"Trees that could whisper, talk to each other. Even move."
I've always loved the treekin section of the old wood elf army, and GW's dryads are some of the nicest models despite their age. Finally, I got to paint some! I wanted to try some new painting techniques and use looser brush strokes over base tones to make these models come to life. (Like my poxwalkers, oil paints were an important ingredient, but this time brown instead of black!) I'm very pleased with how they came out - honestly the photos don't do them justice! - and have affectionately named this unit the "Mad Beeches".

Sadly, I don't think this will be the start of a full army. I have plans for a wood elf army one day, but there are too many projects between now and then. Hence, these guys got round bases. Maybe (like my ghouls) I'll find an AoS player that needs an extra 15 dryads for their Sylvaneth army. Otherwise, round bases look nicer in the display cabinet anyway.
Until next time, happy painting!
